Market Integration and Transformation for Energy Efficiency (MAITREE) is a four-year bilateral program between USAID and the Ministry of Power, Government of India. Environmental Design Solutions (EDS) is the program implementing partner.


As per the National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency, ‘Energy Efficiency has the potential to unlock market worth USD 10 billion, avoid capacity addition of 19 GW, fuel savings of 23 million tons and greenhouse gas emissions reductions of 98.55 million tons per year’. MAITREE program supports large-scale building energy efficiency efforts in partnership with public and private agencies. The ECBC website has been developed with the technical assistance provided under the MAITREE program to support uptake and adoption of building energy codes in India.


With a vision to access building energy codes Anytime and Anywhere, this website has been developed as a one stop shop knowledge platform on the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) and Eco-Niwas Samhita.
